Information about JSC “Tamokhush(Isfara Hydrometallurgical Plant)

JSC “Tamokhush”  is considered one of the largest industrial enterprises in the north of Tajikistan. The total area of the plant is 23.35 hectares. There is a tailings pond (evaporation maps) of 8 maps with a total area of 52.4 hectares. There is a technical and technological service. 90% of engineering and technical workers have higher and higher technical education. The workers of the enterprise have experience in chemical and metallurgical industries.

JSC “Tamokhush”  was established in 1994 by corporatizing the Isfara Hydrometallurgical Plant, which was founded in 1948 on the basis of the merger of the Turkestan tin exploration and the Lyakkan mine, the main activity of which was the extraction of celestine, spodumene, beryllium, columbite concentrates.  From the very beginning of its existence, the plant specialized in the production of strontium salts (carbonate, nitrate, phosphate, chromate, sulphate).

Thanks to the introduction of new equipment and advanced technologies, in subsequent years, the plant’s team mastered the production of new types of products: strontium chromate, reactive salts of strontium and bismuth, metallic barium and strontium, aluminum-strontium ligature, rhenium products, vanadium pentoxide, rare earth phosphors and became the leading enterprise of non-ferrous metallurgy of the USSR. In the 70s, the enterprise received wide recognition in various industries, such as electronics, mechanical engineering, defense, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and others.

The plant has a laboratory, which is one of the leading chemical laboratories in the Sughd region.

The enterprise has the following production capacities:

– production of technical strontium salts:

– production of reactive strontium and bismuth salts: Lead nitrate is produced from lead scrap and nitric acid.

– production of metallic strontium and barium: aluminum-strontium ligature

Capacity has been created for processing molybdenum concentrate, spent molybdenum-containing catalysts and waste, with the production of molybdenum

The plant’s specialists have developed and tested a technology for extracting rhenium and molybdenum from molybdenum-containing slags and catalysts, nickel compounds from spent nickel-containing catalysts and vanadium pentoxide from vanadium-containing thermal power plant ashes and concentrates.

The plant has a developed engineering infrastructure.  There is an own system of supplying technical water (2 pumping stations), a sewerage system with treatment facilities and evaporation maps (tailings storage). The plant is supplied with electricity from the lines of JSC “Barki Tajik”

Our goal is to maintain a leading role in the production of strontium and other rare metal products.

The management of the enterprise is extremely interested in receiving external investments for the maximum use of existing capacities, development and implementation of new technologies, and we could also cooperate in any form of a production corporation, in the organiza
